First of all, let me express my deepest sympathy to David's families -- he was the best of the best, and will be greatly missed! I was a Theta Chi Brother of Dave's at the University of Maine, graduating as a Mechanical Engineer in 1960 and worked at the Kittery Naval Shipyard for 34 years. Dave graduated later as a Civil Engineer and subsequently worked later on at the K, K, and Wells Water district. Dave was always a vocalist, and an excellent one at that! At UMO in those days, we had an annual "Interfraternity Sing". I conducted "the House" in our selections. EVERYONE in the Fraternity participated, including half a dozen "tone deaf" Brothers whom I advised before the performance to move their lips ONLY and not make a sound! It worked, and we received a win; it was added to our prior wins, and we secured the huge McCusker trophy for good! I saw Dave several times in the ensuing years (he was singing Barbershop and I was conducting adult concert bands as an avocation). I will always have fond memories of our Brotherhood and friendship -- May he rest in peace! Jerry, Gamma '60
