Loretta E. Clark, 97 years young, died Saturday evening, September 8, 2018 at Harris Hill Center in Concord, NH. She was born in Woburn, MA on September 12, 1920, one of five children born to William and Cecelia (Haggerty) Blake. Educated in Woburn, she graduated from St. Charles High School.

Loretta was the widow of Leo V. Clark, Sr., her loving husband of 61 years, who predeceased her in 2009.

She met her husband in Ogunquit, ME., where they became lifelong summer residents at Littlefields Village. They raised their family in Woburn and Westford MA., and retired in Vero Beach, Florida. Loretta loved to entertain friends and family, she was an avid reader and she enjoyed many hours on Ogunquit Beach doing crossword puzzles with her sisters.

During World War II, Loretta was employed by Raytheon, testing equipment to help our country’s war efforts. In her later years she worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA.

She was a long time member of St. Charles Church in Woburn, St. John the Evangelist in North Chelmsford, MA., and St. Mary’s Church in Wells, ME. She was a most loving gentle woman who never spoke an unkind word.

In addition to her husband, Loretta is predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Blake, Cecelia Kane, and Catherine Sullivan; and her brother, William Blake.

Survivors include her children, Ann Marie Roy of Ogunquit, ME, Leo V. Clark, Jr. and his wife Suzanne, of Stowe, VT, Jean Stains and her partner Alban Eger, of Santa Clarita, CA, Loretta Emerson and her husband David of Penacook, NH, Timothy Clark and his wife Colleen of Westford, MA; twelve grandchildren: Bruce “Buzzy” Roy, Christopher Roy, Nicole Hill, Melissa Ramsey, Megan Kramer, Phillip Stains, Jonathan Stains, Nathan Emerson, Tania Emerson, Alicia Roz, Lee Ann Moore, and Patrick Clark; twenty one great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Harris Hill Center for the loving care which they provided to Loretta over the years.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells. In lieu of flowers please extend an act of kindness to someone, in her honor.
