Obituary for Denny Milliron

Dateline - Kennebunk, Maine

Denny L. Milliron passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his home on Sunday, March 9, 2014 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Denny was born April 22, 1954 in Olean, NY to parents, Richard Milliron (deceased) and Lois Burrows Milliron. He is survived by his wife, Patty; his daughter, Jessica Sax; his son, Zachary; his son-in-law, Peter Sax; two grandchildren; four sisters, Sharon York, Susan Milliron, Christy Milliron and Terri Campbell; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews; and two buddies, Jon and Stan, that he considered not only to be his best friends, but “his brothers.”

After graduating from Hugh C. Williams High School in Canton, NY in 1972, Denny attended Cortland University for 3 years, and later went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Shaw University in North Carolina in 1992. He had always joked about how it took him 20 years to graduate from college, but proud of the fact that he was able to do it while working and raising a family.

Denny was well respected for his hard work and dedication throughout his career. As a leader he enjoyed training and developing individuals, helping them to reach their potential. Under Denny’s guidance and leadership as Plant Manager for New England Truck Tire Center in Sanford, Maine, the plant established high levels of productivity earning Michelin’s coveted “Pacesetter” award both times it was eligible to receive it.
Denny was a member of the Mason’s Northern Star Lodge #555 in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, but his all-time favorite past time was football. He loved the game, and certain family members who were not game watchers, would get a reminder every August of when the first game was going to be. He just felt they needed to know.

Denny loved being surrounded by people and was loved and admired by many. His love and devotion toward his family was unprecedented. He always maintained close contact with his family, extended family, and friends throughout his adult life. We will deeply miss his quick wit, and his great sense of humor, (which he kept right up to the end), but will forever cherish his selfless, loving, kind and generous spirit.

A celebration of Denny’s life will be held during a month of warmth. He cursed this cold winter and could not wait for it to be over.
